3-0: Castilla win last pre-season friendly
Goals by Carrillo, Nico Paz and Álvaro secured the win against Rayo Majadahonda.
Real Madrid Castilla defeated Rayo Majadahonda in their final pre-season friendly. The Whites produced a sublime first-half display, with goals coming from Carrillo and Nico Paz. Álvaro made it 3-0 after the break, but Madrid could have extended their lead but missed some good chances in the final 20 minutes. Raúl’s men brought their pre-season to a close with a record of four wins, one draw and two defeats and must now turn their attention to the league opener against Melilla at the Alfredo Di Stéfano on Sunday, 27 August 8:30pm CEST.
Castilla went close to opening the scoring early on in the clash when Sarr blocked a shot by Nico Paz from point-blank range after a ball into the box by Álvaro. The Whites made the most of their next chance and took the lead in the 19th minute. An outstanding run from his own half by Carrillo, who after beating three opponents, linked up with Nico Paz and Palacios to find himself in front of the keeper and slot home with his right foot. Raúl's charges kept up the tempo and, three minutes later, found the back of the net again. Nico Paz stole the ball in the opposition half, Álvaro collected the loose ball and played a pass forward to the midfielder, who finished with a beautiful lob. Before the break, Cañizares produced a superb save to deny Claverías from a free-kick close to the edge of the area.

Seals fourth pre-season win
Rayo Majadahonda improved after the restart, but the Madrid academy side were not to be denied and extended their lead in the 54th minute. After a corner from Nico Paz, Carrillo took a touch and kept the move going. Álvaro got away from his marker and finished at the far post to make it 3-0. Soon after, the Castilla forward came very close to grabbing a second goal, but Sarr made a good save to deny him. The madridistas were looking for more and could have added to their lead on two occasions. First Jacobo headed just wide from a corner kick by David González 76' and, four minutes later, Noel was unable to beat Sarr in a one-on-one. The scoreline remained unchanged despite the numerous chances that Castilla had and brought the pre-season to an end in the best possible way. Castilla will now kick off their league campaign next Sunday at home to Melilla 8:30pm CEST.
