3-0: Castilla clinch impressive win at the Di Stéfano
A Dotor double and an Aranda strike clinched all three points against UCAM Murcia on Primera RFEF matchday 23.
Real Madrid Castilla put on a superb display as they stormed to victory at the Alfredo Di Stéfano. Raúl's team were too good for UCAM Murcia in the postponed Primera RFEF matchday 23 meeting and move up to ninth in the table following the win. The madridistas produced a sublime second half with a brace for Dotor and a spectacular Aranda effort sealing their twelfth win of the campaign.
The first half finished goalless at the Alfredo Di Stéfano, despite chances abounding for both teams. Arribas was the first to threaten the opposition goal with a header which flew off target. The Murcia outfit responded on 19' with a long-range effort which was blocked by the madridista defence. The pace of the game then began to drop off and there were no real moments of interest until the 36th minute when Moyita came close to putting UCAM in front. Then, before the half was out, Castilla had a fine chance to take the lead when Aranda shot on goal following Arribas' pass.
Superb second-half performance
Raúl's boys came out firing on all cylinders at the start of the second half. They made their intentions immediately clear with 46 minutes on the clock when Latasa headed close, before Pablo Ramón tried his luck from range. The hosts' superiority would finally yield its rewards on 63’. Peter whipped a cross into the box, Latasa's header was off-target but Dotor escaped his marker and was on hand to turn the ball into the back of the net with a first-time finish. Not even three minutes had gone by when the midfielder was at it again to double the madridistas' lead with a fantastic header. The academy side's impressive spell was rounded off when Aranda brilliantly evaded the attentions of two defenders in the box and smashed home a stunning goal. The score remained 3-0 until the end, completing a fine night for Castilla as they beat UCAM to notch up their twelfth win of the season.
