Castilla got their league season underway with a point against Linense at the Alfredo Di Stéfano. Álvaro opened the scoring in the first half, and after the visitors had levelled at the start of the second half, Arribas put our team back in front. With the scores at 2-1, the opposition managed to seal a point at the death.
After a cagey opening spell, Dotor came close to opening the scoring with a strike which was turned behind by the goalkeeper 20’. Álvaro then did find the back of the net when he rose highest to turn home a corner six minutes later. The visitors had a great chance to level when the referee awarded them a penalty, but Omar failed to convert. After the break, Koroma got the equaliser when he pounced on a loose ball to fire past Cañizares 48’.
As the hour mark came around, Obrador came within inches of a second with a fierce strike from the edge of the box but Varo did well to parry it wide. Then, with 63 minutes on the clock, Peter threaded a gorgeous pass through to Arribas who beat the defender and sent a glorious chip over the goalkeeper to give our team the lead once more. The visitors nearly levelled again with a free-kick that came back off the bar on 76’, and just as it looked as though Castilla would get the season underway with three points, Fran Morante made it 2-2 with 92 minutes on the clock.
