Real Madrid Castilla came out on top in their first pre-season game against Mirandés at Real Madrid City. Theo got the only goal of the game in the 85th minute after a great free-kick from the edge of the area. Raúl's men, who put in a good performance in this demanding first friendly against a Second Division team, are back in action this week against Leganés Saturday, 11am.

The first opportunity of the game fell to our team. Óscar Mesa broke down the left wing, but Aparicio's shot went over 10'. At the other end, Mirandés could have taken the lead on the half hour mark. A shot from Gabri went wide for a corner, and then Lucas Cañizares pulled off a great save to keep out a header. The goalkeeper was again on hand to save Castilla's just before the break, denying David Vicente's shot from the edge of the area.
Raúl's men, who fielded a different eleven players in the second half, started pushing forward in search of a goal. Aimar had a good chance in the 50th minute after a great pass from Manuel Ángel. Not long after, Jacobo's shot crashed against the post, preventing the reserve team taking the lead in the 72nd minute. Castilla stuck at it and, with in the final minutes of the game, they were rewarded with a free-kick that Theo fired into the top corner from the edge of the area. A great goal to decide the first friendly of the pre-season in favour of our team.
