Real Madrid C. F., its president and Board of Directors are deepy saddened by the passing of Rafael Rullán, a legend of Real Madrid and European basketball.
Real Madrid extends its condolences and support to his family, teammates and loved ones.
Rafael Rullán represented Real Madrid for 18 seasons. Over the course of nearly two decades, from 1969 until 1987, he won 3 European Cups, 4 Intercontinental Cups, 1 FIBA Saporta Cup, 14 League titles, 9 Spanish Cups and 1 Spanish Super Cup.
Rafael Rullán also played for the Spanish national team 162 times, winning a silver medal at Eurobasket in Barcelona (1973).
Rafael Rullán has had ties to Real Madrid for the vast majority of his life, ever since arriving at the club at 15 years of age. Besides his 18 seasons as a player, he also held a series of positions including first team delegate and director of sports schools for the Real Madrid Foundation.
Rafael Rullán has passed away at 73 years of age. Real Madrid offers its condolences to all of madridismo. May he rest in peace.
