Today marks 33 years since the 3rd Spanish Super Cup
On 12 December 1990, Real Madrid beat Barcelona at the Santiago Bernabéu (4-1).
On 12 December 1990, Real Madrid got their hands on a third Spanish Super Cup. Barcelona were the opposition and the first step towards the trophy came in the away leg of the final one week prior at the Camp Nou. Our team clinched victory over the azulgranas thanks to a single Míchel strike (0-1).
The return leg was held at the Santiago Bernabéu, where the side coached by Alfredo Di Stéfano treated the home fans to a glorious Super Cup success thanks to a convincing 4-1 win. Butragueño struck a brace, while Hugo Sánchez and Aragón were also on the score-sheet, the latter netting from the halfway line to complete the rout.
