On 14 January 2024, Real Madrid lifted their 13th Spanish Super Cup at the Al-Awwal Park stadium in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia). This was the second edition to be played in a knockout format and outside Spain. In the final, Madrid beat Barcelona 4-1 after a brilliant display by Vini Jr, who netted three goals in the first half and was named MVP of the final. Rodrygo scored the fourth goal in the second half.
Previously, Ancelotti's team beat Atlético in extra time in the semi-finals. Rüdiger and Mendy scored in the first half, but their opponents turned the game around with three goals. Carvajal scored in the final minutes to make it 3-3 and force extra time. A goal by Joselu gave Madrid the lead in the first half of extra time and, in the 120th minute, Brahim sealed the final 5-3 with a superb goal.
