Real Madrid won the title on 27 April 1958 thanks to a draw in the derby against Atlético.
In 1958, Real Madrid celebrated their sixth LaLiga title. With Carniglia as coach, our team mathematically won the championship with one matchday to spare in a 1-1 draw against Atlético Madrid at the Metropolitano. Los Rojiblancos took the lead in the first half, but Rial equalised in the 76th minute to secure the league title.
That season, Real Madrid were three points clear of Atlético in the table and never lost a home game. Di Stéfano, with 19 goals, won the Liga Pichichi Trophy alongside Badenes (Valladolid) and Ricardo Alós (Valencia). In addition, the madridistas were the side that conceded the fewest goals, with just 26.
