Today marks 58 years since Real Madrid claimed their 11th Copa de España in basketball. On 28 May 1967, the Whites won the trophy against Kas Vitoria (85-80) in a final played in the Basque city of Vitoria. Pedro Ferrándiz’s men led by six points at half-time and maintained their advantage in the second half to lift the trophy.
Clifford Luyk was the standout performer, scoring 40 points. Real Madrid thereby won their third consecutive Cup and reaffirmed their authority in the competition. They also won the European Cup that year.
