Real Madrid won its fourteenth basketball league title 52 years ago. They did so after beating Breogán on the antepenultimate matchday (81-50). Clifford Luyk was Madrid's top scorer in the league, and Ferrándiz's team finished with 21 wins and one defeat. That year the team won the fifth league in the series of 10 in a row obtained between the 1967/68 and 1976/77 seasons. They also clinched the double by winning the Spanish Cup.
