Real Madrid won their 13th Copa de España on this day back in 1975. Their final opposition were Atlético de Madrid, with the game being hosted at the Vicente Calderón. The showpiece finished goalless but the Whites went on to edge out their rivals in the penalty shootout (4-3). AmancioPirriRubiñán and Aguilar all converted from 12 yards for the madridistas.

On the way to the Vicente Calderón finale, our team got the better of Orense over two legs in the Round of 16; they then beat Las Palmas in the quarters, coming back from a 4-0 first-leg deficit; Zaragoza were the opposition in the semi-finals. The squad was coached by Miljan Miljanic, clinching a league and cup double in the campaign.
