48 years since the 17th LaLiga title
On 9 May 1976, Real Madrid clinched the title with a win over Granada on the road (1-2).
Today marks 48 years since Real Madrid clinched their seventeenth LaLiga title. On 9 May 1976, with one game to go, our team won the league after beating Granada 1-2 at the Estadio Los Cármenes thanks to goals for Macanás and Breitner. The win saw the madridistas retain the title they had won in the previous campaign.
Real Madrid concluded the 1975/76 LaLiga season with a five-point lead over Barcelona. The team led by Miljanic conceded the fewest number of goals in the competition (26 goals) and goalkeeper Miguel Ángel clinched the Zamora Trophy, while the squad's top scorer was Pirri, with 13. The title was the third of six League wins during the 1970s.
