On this day 44 years ago, Real Madrid's basketball team got their hands on a seventh European Cup. Our team overcame Maccabi in the final in Berlin on 27 March 1980 (89-85). Two years on from lifting the Sexta, the madridistas were crowned champions once again. That season, the squad coached by Lolo Sainz clinched the double, going on to win the League as well.

Real Madrid and Maccabi made the grand finale after finishing in the top two places during the Regular Season, with 7 wins and 3 defeats. Led by Rullán (27 points) and Meister (21), our boys dominated the play and the scoreline (48-40 at the break and 89-85 at the buzzer) to claim the title.
