Emilio Butragueño made his Real Madrid first-team debut 40 years ago with an impressive performance against Cádiz at the Ramón de Carranza. He came as a second-half substitute trailing 2-0 and his performance was instrumental in turning the game around and securing a 3-2 comeback. The forward netted his first two goals in this match in what was the start of a legendary career at Real Madrid.
 
Butragueño made 463 appearances between 1984 and 1995, and went on to become one of the club's top scorers with 171 goals. He was also a leading figure during one of the most successful periods in our club's history and gave his name to the Quinta del Buitre. He won 2 UEFA Cups, 6 Spanish League titles, 2 Copa del Rey, 1 Spanish League Cup, 4 Spanish Super Cups and 1 Copa Iberoamericana.
