39th anniversary of the 25th Basketball League win
On 10 May 1986, Real Madrid were crowned champions at Barcelona's court.

39 years ago today, Real Madrid secured its 25th Basketball League title. On 10 May 1986, the team coached by Lolo Sainz became champions after defeating Barcelona on their court in the final’s second game. It was the third consecutive league title for our team, the only team at that time to have won in the ACB format.
Real Madrid went into this final game in Barcelona with an advantage, having won the first game 83-80. Lolo Sainz's team had the chance to settle the series in its second game and did just that. Barcelona came out very strong and went into half-time leading (41-35), but our team, led by an inspired Fernando Martín, who scored 26 points, and Townes, who scored 20, turned the game around to win 86-88 in a thrilling closing few minutes.
