On 19 August 2001, Zinedine Zidane made his first competitive appearance for Real Madrid. It came in the first leg of the Spanish Super Cup tie at La Romareda, with the club legend completing 80 minutes of the clash. The game finished 1-1, with our team going on to lift their sixth Spanish Super Cup at the Bernabéu three days later thanks to a 3-0 win in the return - this was the first of 6 titles Zidane would clinch as a Real Madrid player.

Zidane went on to make 227 appearances over 5 seasons at Real Madrid, scoring 49 goals. He won one Champions League crown with the team, smashing that iconic volley into the top corner against Beyer Leverkusen in the final, as well as an Intercontinental Cup, a European Super Cup, a LaLiga title and 2 Spanish Super Cups.

Zidane was also Real Madrid head coach for two different periods - first, from 2016 to 2018, then again from 2019 to 2021. During that time, he clinched a remarkable 11 titles: 3 European Cups, 2 Club World Cups, 2 European Super Cups, 2 LaLigas and 2 Spanish Super Cups.
