The Madridistas came from behind after Puñal's penalty had put the Navarrese side ahead in the 83rd minute. Our team, playing with a man less for the entire second half, turned the score around in the final minutes with goals from Robben and Higuaín and were able to celebrate the championship.
The team coached by Schuster ended the 2007/08 League with an eight-point lead over Villarreal, who finished second.
