We won our third Spanish Cup 117 years ago

It was 117 years ago that Real Madrid won their third Spanish Cup. On 30 March 1907, our team played the decisive match of that edition against Vizcaya. The Hippodrome on the Castellana was the setting for the title match, which was won by Real Madrid by the narrowest of margins. It was the third of four consecutive Spanish championships won by the club between 1905 and 1908.

That Spanish Cup was played in a group format with Vigo, Hamilton, Recreativo Huelva and Vizcaya as opponents. At the end of the competition, Madrid and the Basque team were tied, resulting in a replay. In the final match, Prast gave Madrid the lead, who defended the result and lifted the title.
