Today marks the ninth anniversary of Real Madrid's 25th Copa del Rey basketball crown. On 22 February 2015, the Whites edged out Barcelona in the final at the Gran Canaria Arena (71-77). Rudy was the standout performer of the game with 16 points and 26 in PIR and won the MVP of the edition. Ayón, Sergio Rodríguez and Nocioni, with 10 points each, backed up the excellent performance of the Balearic small forward.
On the road to the final, Real Madrid beat Zaragoza in the quarter-finals (85-73) and Joventut in the semi-final (83-100). In doing so, Laso's men retained the trophy they won the previous season and took another step towards the historic milestone of winning five trophies in one year: EuroLeague, Intercontinental Cup, league title, Copa del Rey and Super Cup.
