Real Madrid won the first of its 11 European Basketball Cups in 1964. The legend of the competition's most successful team began on that day, thanks to a superb comeback in the two-legged final against Spartak Brno. The team coached by Joaquín Hernández, who had lost the first leg 110-99, made up the lost ground in the second leg and celebrated the title with their fans.

The Madridistas, who were 11 points down going into the deciding game, were far superior to their opponents. After an even first half (37-33), our team upped the ante in the second half to end up winning by a resounding 84-64. Emiliano and Luyk were the final's most outstanding players.
