Real Madrid clinched their 8th basketball league title in 1965. The 79-66 victory over Joventut gave the title mathematically to the Whites with two games still to play. Pedro Ferrándiz's team won 13 of the 14 games and overtook Picadero in the standings.
This league title was the sixth in a row for Real Madrid, who continued to prove their supremacy in the championship by winning eight of the first nine editions. Clifford Luyk was the top scorer for the madridistas, who capped a spectacular season by lifting the European Cup, the league and the Copa de España.
