The Catalan outfit dominated the first half, taking a five-point lead into the break (43-48). Following the restart, though, Lolo Sainz's boys reacted to complete the turnaround and add to their trophy haul.
Petrovic played a key role in the final, which was held in A Coruña, finishing as top scorer with 27 points. He was followed by Rogers, with 23. The win marked the madridistas' first title of the 1988/89 campaign, before they went on to win the FIBA Saporta Cup thanks to Petrovic's exhibition.
