Petrovic was decisive in that final, which was played in A Coruña, and finished as the game's top scorer with 27 points. The Balkan player was seconded by Rogers, with 23 points. It was Madrid's first title of the 1988/89 season, in which they also won the Cup Winners' Cup with a scoring display from Petrovic.
