Real Madrid won their eighth Spanish Super Cup 16 years ago
The Whites beat Valencia 4-2 at the Bernabeu on 24 August 2008 to turn the tie around and claim the title.

It is 16 years since Real Madrid won the Spanish Super Cup for the eighth time. Our team lost the first leg against Valencia (3-2), but Van Nistelrooy's brace at Mestalla was key to the comeback at the Santiago Bernabéu.
In Madrid, the team conceded in the 33rd minute, but Van Nistelrooy's penalty at the start of the second half spurred Madrid on. Sergio Ramos, De la Red and Higuaín turned the tie around (4-2) to clinch the eighth Spanish Super Cup to add to the club's trophy cabinet.
