Florentino Pérez leads Real Madrid supporters’ club gathering in Jeddah
“Madridismo is capable of uniting millions of people around the world, it goes beyond origin, nationality, language, religion, ideology or culture,” the president told the 500 supporters in attendance.
The Real Madrid supporters’ clubs have given our team their backing in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia). The Jeddah Hilton hotel hosted an event attended by around 500 fans, representing 26 Real Madrid supporters’ clubs in the buildup to the Spanish Super Cup final.
President Florentino Pérez highlighted in his speech: “Today we are together again in this beloved city of Jeddah to experience a new Spanish Super Cup final. This will be our sixth final here in Saudi Arabia.”
Support for the team
“I want you to know that our players feel your strength and your passion. They will give it their all to make sure you're proud of their effort and their commitment to a crest and a jersey that symbolise our values.”
A universal feeling
“I would like to express our gratitude for the affection and hospitality you show us always. And thank you for your relentless work to strengthen the universal feeling that is madridismo, capable of uniting millions of people in every corner of the world, which goes beyond origin, nationality, language, religion, ideology or culture.”
The Real Madrid Foundation
“The charitable work our club carries out also allows us to work here in Saudi Arabia, through the Real Madrid Foundation. We are very proud of our project in Riyadh, with 300 boys and girls being tutored in the values of sport. Here, our work also brings us closer to sick children who are hospitalised, to whom we offer hope and joy.”
“The Real Madrid Foundation helps 400,000 people every year, especially children living in vulnerable circumstances across more than 100 countries. We have a firm commitment to stand by the most disadvantaged in society, and we will continue working every day to achieve this.”
The Real Madrid legend
“This is the club of the 15 European Cups, and let there be no doubt that our players, every time they pull on the Real Madrid jersey, are very clear about something that is never questioned here: we never give up. This white jersey has been the driver behind some of the most extraordinary moments in the history of this sport. It represents the passion and emotion of football and belongs in all of your hearts, the hearts of the people.”
A cycle of success
“Over these last 15 years, Real Madrid has experienced one of the most successful periods in its history. Together we have won 30 titles, including 6 European Cups. The strength and unity of all madridismo have been fundamental in this winning cycle. Thank you for everything you give to Real Madrid, and for always being by our team’s side as we continue building the legend of the best club in the world.”
At the end of the event, the president presented a Real Madrid flag to each of the supporters’ clubs represented at the hotel in Jeddah.
