Tribute to Olympic medallists
Fran Garrigós, Diego Domínguez, Carlos Arévalo, Rodrigo Germade, Marcus Cooper, Paula Leitón and Pili Peña enjoyed a standing ovation from the Santiago Bernabéu.
The Santiago Bernabéu paid tribute to the madridistas who clinched medals at the Paris Olympic Games. Prior to kick-off in the game between Real Madrid and Espanyol, our stadium gave a standing ovation to Paula Leitón and Pili Peña, Water polo gold; Fran Garrigós, Judo bronze; Diego Domínguez, Kayak C2 500 bronze; and Carlos Arévalo, Rodrigo Germade and Marcus Cooper, Kayak K4 500 bronze. The Olympians all presented their medals to the fans, and both teams' players formed a guard of honour.
