Real Madrid pays tribute to Franz Beckenbauer
José Martínez 'Pirri' and Emilio Butragueño represented the club at the emotional event held at the Allianz Arena.

The honorary president of Real Madrid, José Martinez Pirri, and the club's Director of Institutional Relations, Emilio Butragueño, attended the emotional tribute held at the Allianz Arena in memory of Franz Beckenbauer, who passed away on 7 January. A large image of the legendary German player with the number 5 on his back and surrounded by flowers presided over the ceremony in the centre of the pitch at the Bayern Munich stadium. There, his team-mates from the Germany team with which he won the 1974 World Cup, including two Madrid legends, Paul Breitner and Günter Netzer, were there to pay tribute to Beckenbauer. And also the 1990 World Cup winners, who had Beckenbauer as their coach, as well as personalities from the world of football such as FIFA president Gianni Infantino.
