Casillas: “It was a real party to help in the fight against ALS"
“We're so fortunate to be able to play for all these people who came to see us," added Zidane after the Corazón Classic Match 2024.
Real Madrid Leyendas and FC Porto Vintage went head to head in the Corazón Classic Match 2024: El partido más solidario hosted at the Santiago Bernabéu. The proceeds from the event will go towards research into the fight against amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and ensuring the sustainability of the Real Madrid Foundation's social sports schools. Our club legends spoke to Realmadrid TV after the game to discuss their support for the initiative.
Casillas, who was playing in the Corazón Classic Match for the first time, explained: "I'm so proud to be part of the history of this wonderful club. The stadium has changed a lot, it's majestic. We had a great time, it was a real party and what better way to do what we love than by helping support the fight against ALS."
Zidane: “It's an honour to be here for the fight against ALS”
“We're so fortunate to be able to play for all these people who came to see us veterans. It's always an honour to be here. We all turned up to help in the fight against ALS, it's an important day for the families who are doing all they can to improve each day. We have to think about them."
Butragueño: “Thank you to everyone who came”
“Thanks so much to everyone who came. I'd like to thank the Foundation for the amazing social work they do. Part of the proceeds will go towards research into ALS. We recently lost Miguel Ángel and our teammate in Castilla Paco Pérez Durán is suffering from the illness. It's a subject close to our hearts and we need to raise awareness.”
Roberto Carlos: “People have enjoyed seeing a packed-out Bernabéu”
“The main thing is that people have enjoyed the match and the Bernabéu was packed out. It's brilliant to see. We have to thank all our fans and the Foundation. The important thing is being to help those who need it."
Arbeloa: “The Foundation is present across the globe”
“This club is the best in the world due to all it has won on the pitch and the same goes for their off-the-pitch efforts thanks to the Real Madrid Foundation. It's present across the globe, helping those who need it most. It's important for people to know what Real Madrid is doing and for them to support these causes. We're the greatest club in the world because we always help those who need it most."
Seedorf: “We must keep helping those in need”
“When we come here, we want to do good things for the people, the club, our teammates and, of course, for a hugely important cause like ALS. The Real Madrid Foundation has been doing an unbelievable job for many, many years. We have to keep supporting those in need."
Solari: “The Foundation does some incredible work”
“It's a beautiful game for a noble cause. What our Foundation is doing in over 100 countries around the world is incredible, helping more than 100,000 beneficiaries across the planet. It's amazing work. It's a pleasure and an honour to support them."
Baptista: “Madridismo embraces noble causes”
“We'd like to thank everyone who came. Madridismo embraces noble causes, it was just amazing. So many people came down, not only to see the veterans, but also to help those suffering with ALS."

Milla: “It's important to keep helping out”
“The main thing here is this was a charity game. For madridismo, they're used to coming and seeing the veterans and it's vital that the club keeps going in this manner, especially due to everything its help means."
