23 years without Delibasic
He played for Real Madrid between 1981 and 1983 and won one league title and one Intercontinental Cup.

On 8 December 2001, Madridistas bid farewell to Mirza Delibasic. The European basketball legend died of cancer at the age of 47. He spent two seasons at the club and showcased his tremendous talent and elegance on the court. He was an excellent shooter and distributor of play, and with Real Madrid he won one league title and the Intercontinental Cup.
Delibasic was born in Tuzla (Bosnia-Herzegovina) on 9 January 1954 and during his career, he lifted the most important trophies in club and national basketball. In 1979 he won the European Cup with Bosna Sarajevo, and his record with Yugoslavia is spectacular, with gold medals at the 1980 Olympic Games, the 1978 World Cup and the 1975 and 1977 European Championships.
Hall of Fame
After his early retirement following a stroke, he became a coach and managed Bosnia at the 1993 European Championship. His career honours include being inducted into the FIBA Hall of Fame, being bestowed with the Olympic Order and being voted the best Bosnian athlete of the 20th century.
