NEWS.
On 20 April 2011, Real Madrid were crowned Copa del Rey winners for the 18th time. The final was played at Mestalla and on the road to the final, José Mourinho's men had to overcome Murcia, Levante, Atlético Madrid and Sevilla.

In the final, the Whiotes faced Barcelona, who they defeated courtesy of a stunning header from Cristiano Ronaldo in extra time. This was the third time that Real Madrid had lifted the Copa del Rey at Mestalla, after wins in 1936 against Barcelona and 1993 against Zaragoza. Three years later, in 2014, the madridistas would win the final of this competition again at the Valencian stadium against Barcelona.
