The Real Madrid Foundation welcomed 20 young people from its social sports school in Warrawong (Australia), run in collaboration with the Warrawong Public High School. As part of the trip, they got to enjoy a training session at Real Madrid City, before sharing other training experiences with students from the different social sports schools run by the Foundation in Madrid.

The schools they visited included: the wheelchair basketball school, run at the La Masó municipal sports centre. Here, they took part in the adapted basketball format, and had the chance to learn about the difficulties faced by wheelchair users, as well as how sport can help to give them greater autonomy. They also spent time with the participants in the sensory football school for young people with hearing problems, at the Ponce de León school, which got underway last season and is supported by the Fundación Cajastur. These inclusive experiences were enjoyed by all, as the children shared in their passion for sport. The students also enjoyed a range of cultural and leisure activities, including tours of Madrid, Toledo and Segovia.

Since 2021, the Real Madrid Foundation has been running the social sports project alongside Warrawong High School, catering for around 100 boys and girls. The beneficiaries, who come from a diverse mix of cultural backgrounds and live largely in vulnerable situations, enjoy access to high quality football practice in a safe and healthy setting. As part of the project, they also receive education on healthy lifestyle habits, increasing their time spent doing physical activity and playing outdoors, while strengthening their social skills in order to broaden their personal and educational horizons.
