The Real Madrid Foundation and the UPS Foundation have renewed their collaboration agreement to continue developing social sports projects aimed at vulnerable minors in Spain and six other European countries. In an event held at Ciudad Real Madrid, Enrique Sánchez, executive vice-president of the Real Madrid Foundation, and Francisco Conejo, managing director of UPS for Southern Europe, signed the ratification protocol. The event also featured Felipe Reyes, ambassador of the Real Madrid Foundation; Sergi Vilanova, managing director of UPS Healthcare for Spain; and Ana Riesco, managing director of UPS Supply Chain Solutions for Iberia. This renewal marks the tenth season of collaboration between both entities.

The collaboration will assist 2,170 children and young people this season in Spain, Poland, Portugal, Romania, the United Kingdom, Ukraine, and, for the first time, Italy. The support of the UPS Foundation ensures the sustainability of 15 European social sports schools and various projects in Spain.

A decisive boost for inclusion in Spain
In Spain, the UPS Foundation supports two fundamental work areas: wheelchair basketball schools, which served 22 young people with physical disabilities last season, and basketball schools in foster care centers and children's residences in the Community of Madrid, where almost 450 minors in social risk situations participate in educational and sports activities each year.

Felipe Reyes highlighted the importance of this collaboration: “I am moved to see a group of UPS volunteers share a tournament and court with our wheelchair players. That closeness and sensitivity toward the group they collaborate with shows that their commitment goes far beyond institutional collaboration, reflecting a real and sustained engagement with the social impact of the project. The same happens in the European countries where volunteers also participate: their presence gives strength, encouragement, and a second boost to many young people who need it.”

A consolidated European project
Since 2024, the collaboration with the UPS Foundation has allowed more than 2,000 European minors to benefit each season from programs that teach values through sports, providing safe environments for learning, inclusion, and the holistic development of groups in social, economic, and family vulnerability, as well as impacting their families and communities.

Francisco Conejo noted: "We are proud to renew this collaboration, which this season will reach 2,170 children and young people in Spain and other European countries. With the inclusion of Italy, we continue strengthening a project that creates safe environments, promotes values, and provides real opportunities to those who need it most.”

Additionally, thanks to this agreement, UPS, a global leader in package transportation, collaborates in the national and international logistics of the Real Madrid Foundation for social sports schools, projects, and programs.

The experience of the Foundation combined with UPS's logistical, financial, and human commitment reaffirms a partnership that continues to expand across Europe and pursues a common goal: improving the lives of vulnerable minors through sports and the values transmitted by teamwork.
