The Real Madrid Foundation's Campus Experience will return to Palencia this summer
NEWS.

The president of the Palencia Provincial Council, Ángeles Armisén, accompanied by the Deputy for Socioeconomic Development and Sports, Francisco Pérez, and the Sports Delegate, Eduardo Tejido, presented the already well-established football campuses organized every summer by the Real Madrid Foundation in the province, in collaboration with the provincial institution and the municipalities hosting the events. The event was also attended by the Foundation's ambassador, Ricardo Gallego; the Foundation's Head of Institutional Relations, Félix González; the Head of Campuses and Promotional Projects, David Gil; and the mayors of Velilla and Astudillo, Gonzalo Pérez and Luis Santos.

The initiative reaches 200 young participants each year, 100 in each of the two locations, with a focus on promoting equal opportunities in sports for residents of rural areas, giving them priority in the selection process. This experience provides an opportunity for children in the province to enjoy a top-tier sports activity in their local environment, Palencia. In this way, they combine sports practice with values-based education and healthy habits.

Facilitating work-life balance
The cost of the campus is €240 per participant, but each will only need to pay €100, thanks to the collaboration of the Palencia Provincial Council and the municipalities, which will cover the remaining amount. Through this initiative, the Provincial Council, via its Sports Service, aims to give young people the opportunity to connect with the Real Madrid Foundation and facilitate work-life balance by offering parents a great option during the vacation period for their children.

Open registrations
The Velilla campus will take place from August 3 to August 10, and the Astudillo campus will be held from August 17 to August 21, both running from 8:15 am to 2:30 pm. Participants must be between 7 and 15 years old, inclusive. Registrations are open until May 12, with preference given to residents registered in each of the respective host locations. If there are more applications than available spots, a public draw will be held on May 19 to allocate the spots. Registrations can only be made through the Palencia Provincial Council, either at the General Registry or via the electronic headquarters.

Visit to the Bernabéu and Ciudad Real Madrid
The campuses will be led by coaches from the Real Madrid Foundation and specialized monitors. While sports practice is important at these campuses, the primary focus is on teaching the best values of sports, such as camaraderie, teamwork, effort, and respect. In addition to training sessions, the campus includes a trip to Madrid to visit Ciudad Real Madrid, where participants can also enjoy a training session, and the Bernabéu stadium. Additionally, participants will receive a full kit from the Real Madrid Foundation.

Ángeles Armisén: "We want children to enjoy quality training without leaving their local environment"
"From the Provincial Council, we want every boy and girl from Palencia, regardless of where they live, to have the opportunity to enjoy high-quality training without leaving their local environment. This rotation model not only boosts our local economy but also demonstrates that the rural areas of Palencia are fully capable of hosting internationally prestigious projects."

Other collaborations
With the arrival of the campuses in Astudillo and Velilla del Río Carrión, the spirit of regional cohesion continues, following the excellent results of the four previous host locations: Aguilar de Campoo, Villamuriel de Cerrato, Baltanás, and Saldaña.

With this in mind, the Palencia Provincial Council and the Real Madrid Foundation have already held some meetings to work on collaborations between the two entities, in events such as the Mariano Haro 10,000 race in Becerril, or in other sports modalities.
