The Real Madrid Foundation and HSBC renewed their collaboration agreement in a ceremony held at Ciudad Real Madrid. Emilio Butragueño, director of Institutional Relations at Real Madrid, welcomed the CEO of HSBC Spain, Pablo López-Henares, to reaffirm an alliance that has been in place since 2012 and continues to contribute to the development of social sports projects aimed at vulnerable groups.

Over the years, the collaboration between the two entities has facilitated numerous educational and social initiatives, starting with the social sports schools for minors at risk of exclusion in various parts of Spain, as well as support for flagship projects like the school in the former settlement of El Gallinero or programs for minors in care centers.

Commitment to inclusion and diversity
Currently, HSBC focuses its support on the schools for individuals with disabilities run by the Real Madrid Foundation, funding five schools —four football social sports schools and one basketball social sports school— that serve nearly 130 children and young people each season.

The goal of these schools is to promote the integral development of participants through sports in an inclusive, educational, and adaptive environment tailored to their needs. The program is aimed at minors with various types of disabilities, including intellectual, physical, and motor disabilities, as well as profiles such as individuals with Down syndrome, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and pervasive developmental disorders.

Through a specific methodology, sports become a learning tool that fosters cognitive, motor, emotional, and social skills, contributing to improved self-esteem, personal autonomy, emotional well-being, and the adoption of healthy lifestyle habits.

Renewal Ceremony
During the event, Emilio Butragueño highlighted the importance of maintaining partnerships that generate real social impact: "Thanks to their commitment, we can continue to offer opportunities to children and young people who find in sports a space for inclusion, learning, and personal growth."

Meanwhile, Pablo López-Henares emphasized the value of sustained collaboration over time and its impact: "We renew this alliance for the fourteenth consecutive year with the conviction that sports, lived with values, is a powerful tool for inclusion and development. This project focuses on children with disabilities, offering them a space where they can grow, strengthen their self-esteem, and feel part of a team. For HSBC, beyond the numbers, what matters is the real impact on the lives of each beneficiary and their environments."
