The Real Madrid Foundation expands its presence in the Philippines
A socio-sports school is being opened this season in the province of Batangas in partnership with the NGO SHARE.
The Real Madrid Foundation strengthens its presence in the Philippines with the opening of a socio-sports school in the province of Batangas, south of Manila, in collaboration with the NGO SHARE (Self Help Approach and Right-Based Environment). This new school starts its activity this season with 80 children, and represents a new step in the consolidation of the Foundation's work in the country.
The Real Madrid Foundation landed more than 14 years ago in the Philippines together with the NGO Anakk on the island of Mindanao. During this time, the work in four communities in Davao del Sur has made it possible to offer educational and sporting opportunities to more than 350 beneficiaries each season, helping to prevent minors from joining gangs and to improve coexistence in the area.
Over the years, the project with Anakk has evolved to adapt to the new needs detected in the communities, incorporating awareness-raising initiatives on the responsible use of digital devices and the prevention of cyberbullying and cyberharassment.
Commitment to education
Along the same lines, the new socio-sports school in Batangas, developed together with SHARE, an NGO with more than 10 years of experience in child protection, combines sports practice with workshops on empowerment, family awareness and the creation of safe spaces where children can express themselves and share their experiences. The project also incorporates training sessions on the risks associated with the excessive use of mobile devices, the internet and social networks.
The Fundación Real Madrid consolidates an intervention model that grows from experience and adaptation to the real needs of children, reaffirming its commitment to education in values and the comprehensive development of children in vulnerable contexts.
