Second Charity Dinner of the Pedro Jaén Foundation for the socio-sports school in Tanzania
Butragueño, Solari and Gallego supported the initiative, in which the Real Madrid Foundation, which helps to integrate children with albinism and xeroderma pigmentosum, collaborates.
The director of Institutional Relations at Real Madrid, Emilio Butragueño; the managing director of the club's Foundation, Julio González Ronco; the director of Football, Santiago Solari; and the Foundation's ambassador, Ricardo Gallego, attended the charity dinner organised by the Pedro Jaén Foundation, in collaboration with the Real Madrid Foundation, to benefit the socio-sports project that both entities are jointly developing in Tanzania. The aim is to help children with albinism and xeroderma pigmentosum who are at serious risk of exclusion and vulnerability.
The event, with the participation of Cantabria Labs and Bioderma, brought together more than 250 people at the Gran Casino de Madrid. The event, in the framework of the Africa in the skin project of the Pedro Jaén Foundation, was presented by Alba Lago and Nieves Álvarez and numerous items of sports memorabilia donated by Real Madrid and its Historical Heritage Centre were auctioned. Among them were a shirt and ball signed by the first team and gloves signed by Courtois, donated by the Real Madrid Foundation for this charitable purpose.
Health and surgical care for patients without resources
For more than 16 years, Dr. Pedro Jaén has developed health and surgical care programmes for patients without resources. He has also trained local dermatologists so that they can treat these conditions, as well as informing the main social agents (health personnel, educators, families...) to increase their knowledge, implement photoprotection and self-care habits, favour the integration of patients, improve their quality of life and provide them with the best possible healthcare.
