Real Madrid City was once again the setting for a day of solidarity in which sport became a vehicle for promoting health. GSK employees and Real Madrid veterans played a match to reaffirm their joint commitment to prevention as a basic pillar of health and a way to improve the quality of life of the most vulnerable groups.

Collaborating since 2018
Since the start of their collaboration in 2018, the Real Madrid Foundation and the biopharmaceutical company GSK have been working together to promote values such as effort, health and solidarity. Under the slogan ‘Prevention for a healthy future’, both entities once again held this meeting to raise awareness of the essential role played by vaccines in the prevention of diseases and in improving the quality of life at all stages, especially in adults and the elderly.

Sílvia Montes-Jovellar, Director of the Projects Area of the Real Madrid Foundation, said: "We are thrilled to once again share this message party that shows that together we can generate real changes in people's lives and work for a more health-conscious world at all ages."
Cristina Henríquez de Luna, President of GSK Spain, said: "At GSK, we are committed to contributing to improving people's health and prevention is a key pillar for this. To be able to work hand in hand with a key ally such as the Real Madrid Foundation to get this message across to society is a source of pride and shared responsibility for us. Thanks to all the veterans who have joined us today in this match to send out this message about the importance of getting ahead of the disease through sport".

Joint commitment to prevention and health promotion through sport
In this way, GSK and the Real Madrid Foundation reaffirm their joint commitment to prevention and health promotion through sport. Physical activity, combined with prevention and health education, is an effective tool for improving well-being and reducing the risks associated with infectious and chronic diseases.

In addition, thanks to this collaboration, the adapted football and basketball socio-sports schools provide scholarships to children with respiratory conditions, especially asthma and allergies, so that they can practice sport in an environment that favours their physical and emotional wellbeing, with training based on the unique Real Madrid Foundation methodology Por una educación Real: Valores y deporte (For a Real Education: Values and Sport).
