Lunin's emotional meeting with beneficiaries of Real Madrid Foundation schools in Ukraine
These schools are co-financed by the European Union, Salesian Missions and the club's Foundation.
Andriy Lunin met with 20 children who are beneficiaries of the two socio-sports schools co-funded by the European Union, Salesian Missions and the Real Madrid Foundation in Ukraine. Located in Vynnyky and Zhytomyr, these schools provide comprehensive support to war-impacted children, including internally displaced persons, orphans and children from vulnerable families.
During their four-day stay in Madrid, the youngsters benefited from a unique programme: they went to the Bernabéu to witness Real Madrid's victory over Valencia and paid a visit to Real Madrid City for a training session. To top it all off, they also watched the first team session and greeted their compatriot Lunin, who signed shirts and posed for a photo with them, creating a lasting memory to cherish.
In their second season with the Real Madrid Foundation, these two schools in Ukraine cater for 220 children aged between 5 and 16 and provide training that combines football in values with school support, English classes, psychological help, complementary nutrition and creative activities such as art therapy. Two inter-school tournaments have been successfully carried out with the participation of the schools managed by Epicentr for Children, which have produced a positive synergy between the different Ukrainian schools, resulting in a tangible social impact. These initiatives, held at the Salesian sports centre in Vynnyky and the Salesian school Vsesvit in Zhytomyr, reinforce the Foundation's mission to promote education, inclusion and the well-being of children in vulnerable situations.
Ultimately, this project illustrates the Real Madrid Foundation's commitment, in collaboration with its partners, to use sport as a tool to improve the lives of children in difficult circumstances.
