Official Announcement: Maledon
Real Madrid C. F. has reached an agreement with Théo Maledon, point guard from LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne, which will see the player sign for the club for the next two seasons, until 30 June 2027.
Maledon is an international for France, where he won the silver medal at the 2022 European Championships.
He began his professional career at LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne, winning the League and Cup in the 2018-2019 campaign. His impressive performances clinched him the title of MVP in the Cup final and Best Young Player in the League.
In 2020 Maledon made the switch to the NBA, where he played until the 2023-24 season, making a total of 177 appearances for Oklahoma City Thunder, Charlotte Hornets and Phoenix Suns.
Last season, he returned to Europe, at LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne, and at 24 years of age, he joins Real Madrid off the back of a fantastic season, averaging 17 points per game in the EuroLeague and being named in the competition's second starting five.
