Official Announcement: Artur Jorge passes away

Real Madrid C. F., its President and its Board of Directors profoundly regret the passing of Artur Jorge, historic player and coach of Portuguese football and world football.

Real Madrid would like to express its condolences and affection to his family, his teammates, his clubs and all his loved ones.

Artur Jorge played for FC Porto, Académica Coimbra, Benfica, Os Belenenses and Rochester Lancers. As a coach, he had a distinguished career managing numerous European, Asian and African teams. In 1987 he won the European Cup with FC Porto. He was also national coach of Portugal, Switzerland and Cameroon.

Artur Jorge passed away at the age of 78. May he rest in peace.
