Real Madrid kicked off their 2023/24 League campaign with a convincing win over Casademont Zaragoza at the WiZink Center, having presented the Super Cup won in Murcia last week to the fans. They were dominant in the game from start to finish, delivering a sublime offensive display that yielded 57 points in the first half and set them on the way to breaking the 100-mark. Tavares 15 points without a miss led another seven players in double digits for PIR. Campazzo also posted a superb seven assists on his league return for our team.
The team returned to the WiZink Center with their first trophy under their arm, eager to play in front of the home fans. From the off, Chus Mateo's boys showed their full offensive firepower, to the delight of the madridista supporters. They imposed an unbelievable point-scoring pace in the first half, moving the ball beautifully 12 assists and running hard when necessary to post 33 points in the first quarter and 57 by half-time. Casademont Zaragoza hit back for the first eight minutes based on swift moves and a strong counter 22-18.

The Argentine returned to league action more than 1,000 days since his last game, posting the first basket of the game, a triple, and running the game alongside Sergio Rodríguez 4 assists. Madrid built up their biggest advantage +28 57-29, min. 19 as Casademont Zaragoza provided resistance only in the form of Okafor.
Third game of the season breaks the 100-mark
This is one hungry team, as they showed in the second half. The offensive numbers remained high, while the youthful energy of Ndiaye and Hugo González, and a Tavares who quietly went about his work, building his tally to above double digits. The opposition improved in offense with González and Smith but it wasn't enough to disrupt a solid Madrid, who took their lead to 35 points 72-37, min. 26. Our team were eager to break the century on their league debut and they did just that, when two Causeur free-throws in the final seconds made it 101-70, a collective victory with ten players scoring over 10 points, while eight made double digits in PIR.
