Real Madrid suffered a defeat against Río Breogán in the match corresponding to game day 30 of the League. Scariolo's men started dominating the game, but the Galician side reacted before halftime and managed to take the lead into the final quarter. Despite attempting a comeback in the closing stages, our team could not turn the score around and fell at home, although they remain at the top of the table. Len (17 points and a PIR of 26), Llull (20 and 21), and Hezonja (16 and 21) were our standout players.

The game began with Scariolo's men being more accurate on offense, especially causing damage from inside. Hezonja, with 5 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists, was the main protagonist of a first quarter where the pace gradually slowed. Maledon and Len, both with 3 points, also contributed offensively, enabling our team to close the period with a three-point lead (18-15, min. 10).

Parity Before Halftime
Real Madrid increased the scoring pace at the start of the second quarter. Abalde and Procida, with two three-pointers, and Maledon, with a 2+1, stretched the lead to ten points in just over a minute. However, Río Breogán responded with their three-point shooting, led by Cook, and closed the gap to within two points. Hezonja and Llull answered back to maintain a slim madridista lead (46-43, min. 20).

Breogán's Surge
The visitors turned the game around at the start of the third quarter. Scariolo's men, slightly imprecise, found solutions to the lack of accuracy from the perimeter with Hezonja, the best of our team in this period alongside Len (5 points each). However, Dibba and Mavra propelled their team, sending the game into the final quarter with everything still to be decided (67-71, min. 30).

Madrid Fought Until the End
The Galician team increased their lead thanks to a 2-11 run. Our team tried to respond, but Río Breogán pulled away again, capitalizing on the three-point accuracy of Andric and Aranitovic to bring the score to 77-82. Madrid refused to give up, and Llull, with two three-pointers and his accuracy from the free-throw line, gave hope to Scariolo's men, who closed the gap to three points in the final minute. With just three seconds remaining, Lyles forced a 2+1 that could have tied the game, but after a review requested by the visiting coach, the referees called a prior foul on the power forward. The Canadian made one of the free throws, and after the rebound, a foul on Feliz allowed Río Breogán to seal the game from the free-throw line, preventing a new madridista victory at the Movistar Arena (97-101, min. 40).
