Real Madrid got the better of Dubai Basketball, with a 107-93 win in their EuroLeague Round 19 match at the Movistar Arena. It was a resilient display by our team, who trailed by 14 points at the end of the second quarter, before flipping the script after the break to deliver a spectacular second half and hit the 100-point mark for the third time this campaign. This was a real team success for Madrid, on the night Llull further cemented his legendary status by making his 1,200th appearance in our colours.

The contest began evenly, with Real Madrid taking the lead early thanks to points from Hezonja (3) and Abalde (2). After the first five minutes, though, Dubai Basketball grew stronger on the rebound and upped their offensive tempo to edge ahead (15-19, min. 7). The Emirati side looked to extend their advantage late in the quarter, but Scariolo’s men held firm, turning the scores around once again and close the period with a slim lead (27-24, min. 10). Two minutes before the end of the quarter, our coach brought on Sergio Llull for his 1,200th game for the club.

Intensity and conviction
The game continued at a high offensive pace, but Madrid’s early momentum began to fade as time wore on. Their ball movement slowed, shooting accuracy dipped, and defensive performance dropped. Dubai Basketball took full advantage, proving efficient — especially from the free-throw line (11/11) and from three through Justin Anderson and Dāvis Bertāns — stringing together a 0-10 run. Our team looked to respond before halftime with a three-pointer from Feliz and free throws from Tavares, but it wasn’t enough against a sharp attacking side that went into the break ahead (44-58, min. 20).

Madridista euphoria
Real Madrid came out determined to change the dynamic in the second half — and they did just that. Lyles and Campazzo led the charge at the start of the third quarter with an 11-0 run to cut the deficit to three points (55-58). Dubai Basketball tried to react, but Madrid rediscovered their defensive solidity and upped their game offensively. With five minutes left in the quarter, Tavares tied the game to ignite the Movistar Arena (64-64, min. 6). Jurica Golemac’s men managed to edge ahead by the slimmest margin once more heading into the final quarter (73-74, min. 30).

Real Madrid complete the comeback
Everything was up for grabs in the last 10 minutes. Our team knew they had to maintain intensity in every facet to secure the win. Hezonja put Madrid ahead for the first time in the second half, and as the minutes ticked by, the team became unstoppable on offense. Thanks to some outstanding collective work, they really took control of the game and broke the 100-point mark once again. The visitors did all they could to close the gap but flawless defense — highlighted by blocks from Garuba and Tavares — meant the night went Real Madrid's way for an 11th win in the competition and first of 2026.
