FinishedBàsquet Girona
Real Madrid beat Básquet Girona convincingly in the fourth round of the league. Youth player Gueye made his debut.

Real Madrid are solid at the WiZink Center at the start of this new season with four wins out of four after the win against Bàsquet Girona on matchday four of the league season. They dominated the game thanks to good defensive work and a solid performance, led by Campazzo (14 points and 22 PIR), Tavares (14 and 18) and Hugo González, who produced his best performance of the season (9 and 6 rebounds). The week comes to a close with the second home win in a row in less than 72 hours following the victory over Panathinaikos last Thursday. Ndiaye reached his 100th game and youth player Gueye made his debut with the first team at the age of 17.
The match was played between the point guards in the early stages of a game that had a good rhythm from the start. Campazzo and Durham engaged in an intense duel over who would take control of the game. It was the Argentine, with six impressive minutes, during which he scored 10 points without a miss and provided 3 assists, which gave Real Madrid the initiative with leads of up to 7 points against a Bàsquet Girona team that were reliant on their offensive rebounding and the scoring of their point guard (8). A three-pointer by Rathan-Mayes ended a first quarter that saw Ndiaye become a Madrid centenarian (23-18).
Madrid in command
The Canadian shooting guard picked up the baton from Campazzo at the controls (7 points) and with him, Llull, Deck, Hezonja and Ibaka on the court, we stepped up our level at the back and corrected our defensive rebounding in the second quarter. More players were able to get on the scoreboard (the 11 players who had minutes had already started) and Madrid were able to manage another quarter with ease, leading again with a +6 advantage to reach half-time 11 up (45-34), which might have been more if it had not been for three three-pointers from Ferrando and Durham's activity for the visitors.
Madrid made the final push at the start of the second half. They came out strong and found no response from the visitors, who were unable to overcome our defence. Five minutes during which we prevented them from scoring. The Campazzo-Tavares partnership imposed their dominance in attack. Both exceeded 10 points and 15 PIR, and along with Hugo Gonzalez's contribution (9 points and 6 rebounds), we went on a 15-0 run for a 60-32 lead in the 24th minute.
Gueye's debut
With the game wide open, Girona grew into the match. But Madrid were able to call on everyone's contribution and the continuous rotations allowed them to keep up the intensity. Llull had his moment at the end of the third quarter. First, with a three-pointer from the sidelines, and then with another trademark three-pointer from his own court at the buzzer, which brought the whole of the WiZink Center to its feet and put the score at +33 after a 31-15 run. In the final stretch, Chus Mateo gave Gueye his debut at the age of 17 years and 8 days and Madrid finished the game with three home-grown players on the court.
