Into the League final
MATCH REPORT.Eduardo Olivera

Real Madrid will play in the Liga Endesa final for the fifth consecutive season after winning 3-1 in the semi-finals against Unicaja. Chus Mateo's team clinched the decisive point at the Martín Carpena in the fourth game of the series and will fight for the title against Valencia Basket with home court advantage. Tavares, with 16 points, 12 rebounds and 24 in PIR and Campazzo, with 12 points and a PIR of 24, were the standout performers.

The home side, with the Martín Carpena a cauldron, started with tremendous accuracy from the perimeter (5/8) after 6 points from Hezonja and took an 8-point lead with two minutes to go in the first quarter. But Llull arrived on the scene to score two consecutive three-pointers and make it 22-16 (min. 10).

Right at the start of the second quarter, Llull and Musa reduced the deficit (24-21). However, Unicaja began to dominate the rebound and Ejim, Sima and Perry took advantage to take a +12 lead (33-21, min. 14). Eight points from Musa and seven from Hezonja helped our team cut the deficit at the end of the first half (43-39).

Real Madrid level the match
Our team came out more focused in the third quarter, shut down the rebounds and, thanks to a three-pointer from Campazzo and an inspired Tavares (7 points), levelled the match at 49-49 in the 24th minute. Fernando put Madrid ahead for the first time (51-53), but Balcerowski and Díaz responded to restore Unicaja's lead at the end of the period (63-61).
No sooner had the final quarter started than Fernando tied the game. Carter, from the paint, put Unicaja back in front, but Tavares and Hezonja restored Real Madrid's lead (67-69). Three-pointers from Hezonja and Llull countered Perry's and gave Madrid a +5 lead in the 35th minute (72-77). It was the decisive moment and Campazzo emerged, scoring 7 points to seal the victory for his team and seal their place in the Endesa League final.
