Real Madrid beat Río Breogán to take their eighth league win of the campaign, a seventh in a row at the WiZink Center, where they remain unbeaten in the opening 11 games. Our boys were the superior outfit from start to finish, never trailing and going beyond a 30-point lead at times, in what was the team's best offensive display of the campaign. Deck (14 points and 9 rebounds), Musa (22 points), Garuba (13) and Hugo González (14) led a superb collective effort, with seven players in double digits for PIR. Llull equalled Felipe Reyes as the madridista with the highest number of league appearances to his name (619).

Three minutes was all it took for Madrid to impose themselves on the game in the first quarter. It went from 2-2 to 14-2 thanks to 7 successive points for Deck, while Chus Mateo's charges looked strong at the back, controlling the visitors' offensive rebound to open up a significant deficit on the scoreboard. Musa and Garuba, lively at both ends (5 points and 2 rebounds in 4:30 minutes), extended the madridistas' positive start (19-8, min.10).

Llull and Deck put Madrid in the driving seat
The second quarter was note quite so productive for our boys, as they began to concede an increasing number of rebounds to Río Breogán. The away team grew into the game in offense, moving to within four points of the lead (28-24, min.16). That's when Chus Mateo opted to call a timeout, which helped Madrid rediscover their fluid game. Campazzo brought an added zip to the play, while Deck confirmed his impressive form with another 5 points to total 12, plus 8 rebounds in 13 minutes. Llull joined in with two triples on the day he matched Felipe Reyes' record, closing out a 15-5 run to make it +14 at the break (43-29).

Madrid moved the game beyond any doubt in the third quarter, upping their defensive intensity and imposing a high-scoring rhythm that Río Breogán simply couldn't handle. Musa, with 12 points, and Abalde, flawless from three (3/3), led a 27-17 run in 10 minutes to move beyond a 20-point lead.

Season's best numbers
At 70-49 and the game all but over, our boys didn't let off the gas during the final quarter. Hugo González delivered an explosive spell to finish with 14 points, his top score for the team to date. Hezonja, Feliz and Ndiaye got in on the action to complete a sublime team performance (7 players in double digits for PIR) and set a season-best tally of 106, as well as the biggest winning margin at +37 (106-69, min. 40).
