Real Madrid came away from their trip to Fuenlabrada with their 24th win in the league, keeping them at the top of the standings. Just 48 hours after their important Euroleague win over Virtus Bologna, Real Madrid were victorious in the Madrid derby, recording their eighth away win in a row in this competition. Their strength on the offensive end, scoring over 100 points, with 41 of them in the first 14 minutes, set the tone in a game in which they were far superior and led by as much as +31 at one stage. Poirier, with 26 points, and Causeur, with 22 points, spearheaded the Madrid attack.

It was a dominant start from Real Madrid at the Fernando Martin, coming out very strong in the first quarter and establishing a difference from the opening buzzer. With Causeur leading the way 13 points, nine of them without a miss, and having complete control of the rebounding, our team gradually built up a lead as the minutes passed. A good defensive display did the rest against a Carplus Fuenlabrada team reliant on Pinder and unable to keep up with the scoring pace of Chus Mateo's men, who reached 29 points in this first quarter 13-29, min. 10.

Visitors' superiority
Madrid were performing very well, completely unchallenged and it was difficult to deal with them. The home side put a more physical line-up out in the second quarter, both at the start and at the end, but they were met with a resounding response on both occasions. Our team kept finding the rim with ease from distance. If they didn't do it at the first attempt, they made sure of it at the second, with Poirier rebounding everything and dominating in the paint the best of the game at the interval with 10 points, 4 offensive rebounds and 2 blocks for 20 PIR. The gap hit 25 points at 16-41 in the 14th minute. Marc García's good run cut the difference to 19 points at the end of the first half 31-50.
The game was at the mercy of Madrid. Far from relaxing, they kept up an exceptional level of play, especially in attack, and finally put the game to bed in the third quarter. The Tavares-Deck combination, with the centre dominating both baskets Pinder had two blocks from the Cape Verdean, and the huge success in the three-pointers, with another four in those 10 minutes two of them from Hanga, brought the score to +31 in our favour at 42-73 at the 27' mark. Carplus Fuenlabrada tried their best and with Pinder still leading the way, but it was impossible to keep up with Madrid, who went on to put up 32 points in the quarter 57-82, min. 30.

Outstanding victory
The match was firmly in the bag, but Madrid kept up their fine attacking play. The 105 points scored against Partizan, a record for the season, was on the horizon. Abalde and Ndiaye added to the cause, as did Causeur. The Frenchman scored the 102nd point for our team, who for the second consecutive game exceeded the 90-point milestone with everyone chipping in and scoring, for a combined total of 139 PIR 77-102, min. 40.
