Tavares: “It’s the first game of the year and we hope to rise to the occasion”

Walter Tavares shared his thoughts ahead of Real Madrid’s clash with Dubai Basketball in the EuroLeague Round 19 clash (Friday, 8:45 pm CET): “It’s going to be a very tough game. It’s the first one of the year at home and we hope to rise to the occasion. We need to do all we can to get as many wins as possible to stay at the top.”
“They’re a team that competes really well, with some great signings, and it’s going to be hard work. In the EuroLeague every opponent is difficult. We’ll do our very best to protect our home court.”
Mindset
“We have to stay consistent throughout the game and avoid dips in performance. Against Unicaja, we reacted thanks to the help of our fans, who pushed us to the win. We know there will be tough moments in a game, but we need good energy to fight and give ourselves a chance at the end.”
Wishes for 2026
“To win every title possible, but it’s very difficult because the competition is fierce. We’re going to give everything we have to achieve it, because that’s our goal. Hopefully it will be a great year for us with plenty of victories.”
