Scariolo: “It was a good performance”
“I couldn't ask for any more from the team today, but we have another tough game against Monaco on Thursday," added the coach.
Sergio Scariolo assessed Real Madrid’s win over EA7 Emporio Armani Milan in EuroLeague Round 23. The coach reflected: “I couldn't ask for any more from the team today, but that's done and dusted now, because we have another very tough game on Thursday. We moved the ball really well and made a lot of assists. It was a very good performance. The schedule is so intense that if we think too much about it, we won’t stay focused on Monaco, who are sitting in second.”
“We need to acknowledge the work we’re doing, on a foundation of concentration, finding our approach, striking a balance between the fives on court, and striving for more consistency in our performances. Obviously, we’re playing with much more discipline, understanding of the system, and defensive intensity.”
Defensive efforts
“We’re defending. We’re healthy, and the players are staying fresh thanks to how we’ve managed the last few months and their great professionalism throughout the week. I’m really pleased with the guys who might not play for two or three games, but they still preapre, train well, and are ready to respond when called upon. But it’s mid-January, and I'm sure people will say it's still far too early. We have to keep going.”
