Sergio Scariolo, who celebrated his 200th game on the Real Madrid bench today, assessed the defeat to Maccabi in EuroLeague Round 6: "Congratulations to Maccabi. They put on a very good display. They have loads of talent and some fantastic shooters. We started well but unfortunately, we totally dropped out of the game in the final five minutes of the second quarter and we ended up paying for it."

"From that point, they were in complete control and managed the pace of the game, and with a few mistakes we were nine points behind at half-time. Then we worked really hard as a team and I want to praise my players because they got back into the game and we even had victory within our grasp."

Trying to be better
“We made a mistake at the end by giving Blatt a little too much space but we had a decent shot in the final play, and even a pass to Garuba alone under the hoop. It's the finest of margins. We're trying to be better, but it wasn't enough to win away from home today. We'll learn from our mistakes and look at what we did well so we can apply more of the same in the next game."
